What you can expect on a London Film Tour

Do you fancy feeling like a movie star for the day by going on a London film tour? It might not be Hollywood but some of the biggest blockbusters in recent years have all had scenes filmed in London.  Like most things they come in all different sizes.  Some tours will last just a couple of hours and others can go on for 3 days.  Walking tours are generally just a couple of hours as locations are in close proximity.

So what can you expect?  Well according to the reviews a great time! Actually it depends on the tour you choose.  If you just want a walking tour in London then you will only see what is close enough in walking distance?  But most tours will not walk past a famous monument and not mention it so you will learn other interesting facts as the tours takes you to locations.  You will meet other film fans and you could even meet a friend for life and have a touring buddy for future tours.

Some tours are guided by actual retired actors that appeared in the show, or someone directly related to the film.  This is a great bonus as you can get a real inside take on the making of the film and possibly find out some juicy gossip.

What tours are available? Well you have James Bond tours, Notting Hill, Beatles Tour, Gavin and Stacey tour, Jack the Ripper,  Inspector Morse,  Bridget Jones, Sherlock Holmes, Da Vinci Code and the list goes on.  If you are a film fan and want to go on a tour you can be assured that you will find one that you will want to go on.

One of the most popular tours is the harry Potter tours. There are many different Harry Potter tours as some of the films were filmed in London and parts in Oxford.  One if its highlights is having at go at pushing your trolley through the wall at Platform 9 ¾, this is a great photo opportunity and good fun all round.  Next year a new studio tour is opening where you will get a guided tour at the Warner Bros Studio London, advance bookings are essential for this tour.

Doctor who tours are a very popular, one takes you up to Cardiff as many scenes were filmed across the Welsh capital including Amy Pond's village and Rose Tyler's workplace. 

There is also the creme dela creme film tour where you can arrange private tours where an ex actor from the film joins your group for dinner.  These tours are harder to find mind you and the dates have to suite all parties, but they are available.
